I am certainly not a snob by any means but when a friend told me we were going to a spa in Somers Connecticut for treatments my initial thought was what's in Somers that's so nice compared to everything we have here in Avon! Well, I will be the first to admit I was not only taken back by the absolutley beautiful spa in Somers but the people there were the most client focused compared to any spa I've ever been to! My services were very relaxing, I loved the fact that they let you relax in robes and slippers in between services without being rushed like many other places I've been to. I think I was also very impressed that it was not originally a hair salon with a few extra rooms thrown on, like so many spas these days are!! The pedicure suite is the nicest I've seen anywhere and the time they take to make sure your feet are extra smooth was very impressive. (I had the luxury spa foot treat with an extra 20 min massage!) I did read one of the prior reviews about a staff person named mandy for skin care. I did not have her but my friend Rachael did and thought she was great. She is actually going back next week for a peel since in the last couple days (our treatments were Saturday) her sun damage already seems to have improved from her first treatment! My facial treatment was with Deborah and was so relaxing I fell asleep. I liked her because although we talked about the skin and what was needed to improve this 43 year old skin, she did not push product on me but gave me samples of their Jann Marini products. My face never felt better. My next stop is with their plastic surgeon (Dr Stanislaw) who also happens to have an office here in Avon, CT, how lucky is that! So, we thought the staff was really terrific, my hot stone massage was sensational and we had it in their couples massage room! Carolyn, the hostess, made you feel quite comfortable, she attended to all our needs, including a nice glass of wine by the fireplace. Thanks for the great experience!

Pros: Exceptionally nice surroundings and fabulous service - love their fireplaces!!!!

Cons: None that I can think of, maybe parking a little tight - we went on a Saturday and they were packed!

I really love going to Somers Day Spa, it is always such a treat to get away from the office and from the kids. The services are always rewarding and your truly get your moneys worth. Usually I get facials done at the spa and I have had them done other places to know what they are supposed to feel like and I had a woman, I believe her name was Mandy, I really didn't appreciate her attitude and how rushed my facial was. When I told her how I usually get my facial done, and I am a very polite person, she made me feel like I was an inconvenience for her. I felt really horrible. Thankfully, I enjoy the Spa and realize that most of the staff does not act like that, so I made sure my next appointment was not with her. I recently went for another facial and requested another woman, who I was very impressed with, so I decided to stick with Somers Day Spa.

Cons: THEY NEED TO CHOOSE STAFF MORE WISELY

I would personally like to thank everyone at the Somers Day Spa for a truly pampering experience. I was so impressed with everyone's professionalism and the quality of services I had this week. I loved your wedding coordinator, she was absolutely wonderful, I look forward to having all our hair and makeup done at my mom's house, thank you so much for accomodating us in such a sweet way as I know I am very particular and demanding!!! My pre-bridal trials came out as if it were the day of my wedding already and I absolutely LOVED the airbrush makeup that Mandi used on me, it was totally flawless and lasted completely until 11 pm when I needed to take it off!! Thank you so much again, I look forward to bringing my wedding party in for all their services, my fiance thought it was a perfect gift for all of them!! I look forward to seeing everyone on December 8th!!!!!! You guys are the best !!!

Pros: great service, extremely friendly and absolutely beautiful surroundings!!! And they are open on Sundays!!!!!!!

Cons: I would have to say absolutely none and I'm so very picky!!

I was given a gift certificate by a friend who is quite a regular at the Somers Day Spa and Salon. Since I was in desperate need of a pedicure and facial I thought I should take the opportunity to try out the facility and use my gift certificate. I experienced excellent service throughout and the spa and salon are impeccable. I thought the spa pedicure suite was just beautiful and plan on coming back with a friend or two next month so we can get pedicures together. My facial was absolutely perfect, friends and people I work with have spoken very highly of their peels and acne treatments. I have also heard wonderful things about their massages but I haven't tried that out yet as I love facials. I did get a peel and my skin has never looked so radiant. I was very excited to find they also carried the Jan Marini skin care line as that is what I used when living in CA (I have tried everything and it's the only product that helps dry skin and wrinkles!!)and now I don't have to send for it! My impression of the three front desk staff (although they were extremely busy) was that they were all very friendly and quite professional, something you don't see often enough in any setting. I was actually very impressed with their organization in total. I also decided to have my hair cut and when I went back for my appt yesterday I gave her full permission to give me a new style! I just love it, she even added a few highlights to the top to brighten me up for summer, I can't wait to go back to CA next weekend for my 25th class reunion. Thank you Somers Day Spa and Salon for two wonderful experiences and for making a newcomer to Somers feel so welcome. I'm looking forward to joining my friend quite regularly.

Pros: atmosphere is great - prices very good for a spa of this magnitude

Cons: parking was tight on a saturday, but fine on a thurs-they are in the midst of making new parking areas from what I can see

When I went to Somers Day Spa, I was told by front desk to go to relaxation room. My first time there, so I didn't know where to go. When I found it, I poured some water, it tasted terrible, with lemon slices to apparently cover the bad taste. My services were mediocre: pedicure, my pedicurist talked non-stop - I just wanted to relax. The massage seemed rushed, how do you do a full body massage in 45 minutes? I have been to other Day Spas that may not be "as big", but the services were great and prices reasonable. Very disappointed...

Pros: Big & Beautiful, but I only need one pedicure chair and one massage room

Cons: overpriced, poor parking, services mediocre

I chose somers day spa because I needed a change in the way I look and on their wed site they had every thing I wanted done. I had a facial done and also wax that went wonderful they were very professional. that day I also had a hair consultation to have my hair cut and colored 2 shades of blonde. I could not wait until my hair appointment which was a week away. The girl put the colors in half of my hair and I asked why is she not putting the color in the rest her answer was I am going to put toner in the rest so it will all blend in. After washing out the hair dye and putting the toner in MY HAIR LOOKS THE SAME COLOR AS IT DID WHEN I CAME IN

I've read all the reviews...here and on other boards so I finally decided to take the brazilian plunge and try them out! I did not have the person everyone recommends (Laura I think her name was) as she was completely booked. I had a very nice woman named Renee and it went great...absolutely NO complaints and I am one hairy person! Not only did it go well but she took the time to remove any leftover wax if there was any. She even applied a post wax lotion to calm the skin along with a lavendar powder which soothed it immediately. I also went to check out the spa because I am getting married this fall and this spa was highly recommended by friends.... So....I had to try it, glad I checked it out and was very pleased! The appointment went very well and they were even able to fit me in for a manicure. OMG!!! you should see their new "manicure bar" it is so unique, so very comfortable and they even used this new natural nailcare line on me (I forget the name) but my manicure is STILL GOOD after almost 10 day!!! I thought they were kidding when they said it "should" last over a week.......Anyway, the spa was beautiful, the staff very friendly and professional and thank goodness the waxing went great. I also booked our couples massage with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne as my wedding gift to my new hubby!!!....I'm so excited!!!! And yes, I booked my wedding party hair, makeup manicures and pediucures too!!!!!!!!

Pros: atmosphere, professionalism & OPEN ON SUNDAYS!!!!

Cons: very busy on Saturdays, parking lot is packed!

I just came from my first visit to Somers Day Spa, where I had my very first waxing (eyebrows). I had seen this place many times before, as my boyfriend had an apartment a few miles down the road from the salon a few years ago. Over the past week, I really started looking for a nice and reputable place to get my eyebrows done. After browsing around on this site, I once again came across Somers Spa. I called around 12:30 today and was able to get in for an appointment at 2:45. It truly is a beautiful place! Laura did the waxing, and she was so nice and warm. I showed her a picture of what I had in mind and viola! It was so painless (naturally I was a little nervous as I have never waxed before) I am going back next month for some more waxing as this was such a good experience :) Hopefully every service they offer is as enjoyable as this was! I have no doubt about that. As you can probably tell, I'm a little giddy and happy, because I haven't been able to get my eyebrows right in well over a year, and now they look outstanding. I'm already trying to pick a facial and massage to get done for when this stressful semester is over! I've been to Headliners before for a Mother's Day treat for my momma, and was not impressed with their services (and prices). Somers Day Spa is highly recommended by me!!

I have been going to this day spa for years now. The staff are always so pleasant and welcoming. They take my coat and bring me a cup of coffee as soon as they see me. It is wonderful when they start to get to know you and realize your routine for your spa day and know what you like. It truly makes you feel like you are at home and surrounded around family. I love the tranquil atmosphere and the relaxation room is your getaway into paradise with such pleasant music. I usually start with a "hot stone journey," THE BEST HOT STONE I WILL EVER GET from a massage therapist, they really know my pressure points. It is so great to know you are in such good hands. They really respect that you have been through a long week and know that you want to sleep and be at peace. Then I will get a facial, the owner usually does mine because I enjoy her company, she really created a wonderful spa, and I tell her every time I go. Then I will get me manicure and pedicure. They just installed new pedicure chairs and they are just lovely and do wonders for your feet. Then I will finish and get my hair done by their experienced stylists who always work their magic on my hair. Everyone is so wonderful and I couldn't ask for a better experience. It does not matter what employee I get from Somers Day Spa, they are all well-educated and know exactly what to do to make a woman enjoy her stay. My husband also enjoys going here and he some times gets more pampered then I do. I just love the staff and as I look around in the relaxation room during my intersession when I have my wonderful lunch, I see they treat all of their clients with the same respect. I cannot wait to go to my next appointment. Thank you so much Somers Day Spa.

Everyone at the spa is so helpful and really nice, which makes it easier to relax and enjoy your treatment. They have a new treat call Microcurent which infuses collengen into you face to help make it tighter. This is a topical treatment and it really works!

Pros: Ambience, Friendly staff and they stay up to date on the newest and best treatments.
