Australian tchotchkes and brews give this quintessentially American restaurant a distinctive Down Under flavor.

In Short
Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.
Good Choice

I have eaten at Outback many times and have always been very happy with the exception of having to wait awhile on a Friday or Saturday night.
Having said that there is a reason the Food is wonderful I love it, the Steaks I usually have the Special for $14.95 it is always prepared right and the Bloomin Onion is great too.
I would heartilly recommend Outback.

Been there a few times. average food. pricing could be a little better. Had the porterhouse twice and both times sent it back because it was overcooked. Our waitress was very pleasant and prompt with service.
- Pros: service
- Cons: price
Great All Around Place To Eat

Great food, great service, great for kids....Never had a bad experience here and we've eaten here tons of times!
Great Value for the food, especially the kids meals! It's nice to have 'real' food for the kids instead of some reheated boxed macaroni and cheese like most of the area restaurants! My picky eater girls LOVE it!
The Outback = Mediocre Chain

It blows my mind why the Outback Steakhouse would rank #4 on Connecticuts list of top Steakhouses. Thats like saying Long John Silvers has great seafood! The only quality about this chain steakhouse is that it has a decent value. If you are on a budget this is the place to come of you want an average steak, but other than that this restaurant is by no means a place to write home about.
- Pros: Good Value
- Cons: Always Crowded, Low Quality Food, Not Romantic
Who did you pay for this rating

The food at The Outback is, " Factory Food". Any person with that knows how to read is considered a, " Chef". What?? I dined there once, the service was excellent the enviornment was cool and kid friendly. The food was a total joke.
Why do they advertise themselves as a Steak House? The meat is all seasoned.
That takes all the flavor and texture away from your steak!!
The Outback might be doing a good job marketing there restaurant to the, " average consumer". However be aware there is a huge percentage of the population that's laughing at those outragious commercials and terriable food.
- Pros: Good Service, Attractive Ambiance, Cool Drinks
- Cons: Terrible Food, Overpriced Menu, Stupid Commercials
