No longer the Angellino's we once knew...

This was not the same Angellino's of Wethersfield that we had remembered,
back a few years ago. Somewhere along the line, a major overhaul of the menu
had occurred.
Pizza is no longer served here, except for large gatherings--much to our
disappointment.
There are now only high-end Italian dishes. The dinner menu,
we were told, now begins at 2:30 p.m., instead of 4:00 p.m. (as it had been before) -- far too early, in my opinion. There are no more sandwiches or mainline side dishes on the once-large menu.
Only gourmet, expensive plates.
The restaurant seems no longer customer-oriented. The air inside the facility was
very cold-- 65 F, at the most. When we mentioned this as we left, the waitress
cheerfully implied that we were the ones with the problem...saying that we were right
next to the heater, and alluding to the cold air *outside*.
Tough economic times call for providing customers what they want, and doing their
best to make them feel comfortable and at home. Instead, we felt patronized in
a restaurant that we once enjoyed, and knew as Angellino's of Wethersfield.
Worse food

This was the worse Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at.
Went there for dinner after local shopping during storm and the place was practically empty. Even so, the food was horrible, done quickly and was cold.
The chicken parm was loaded with sauce, could hardly see the chicken, children didn't even touch it.
Wife ordered the chicken Milanese, dish was horrible, loaded with sauce, couldn't taste anything but the lemony sauce.
I ordered the scallops and shrimp dish, scallops came out of a can and were really small, dish had three, yes three, shrimp total. NO sauce here, but no flavor either.
Paid $76.00 + and left all the food behind, would not recommend, should of gone to McDonalds instead.

Angellino's in Wethersfield is a convenient place to get italian food south of Hartford. The portions are large and hearty. I would recommend the Chicken Marsala. Just be careful not to fill up on bread!

Angellinos Restaurant is by far the best Italian restaurant in the entire area. I was there with my family just recently for a family gathering and the food was delicious, their chicken Milanese was the best. Their staff is very friendly and polite. We just had a great experience. I would recomand this restaurnant to any one that likes italian food.

Never have been let down by this resturant always consistant quality, they make the very best Bolognese sauce I have ever had with a nice big serving that was more then enough for lunch the next day, they service is good ,everyone is always very friendly,they have a good luch selection too.
