A really great store. I've never seen so much stuff in all my life. It's like a museum but you can touch the stuff and take it home with you. The guy working was nice and helped me find what I was looking for and took some of my stuff in trade. I have no idea how he knew where everything was in the store but apparently he did. I ended up trading some cards to him at 60% of book which was more the I expected since another shop offered me 10%. I was expecting 50%, I was insulted at 10% but more then happy at 60%. I'm into cards and the comic stuff really doesn't interest me but he has an insane amount of that stuff it floats your boat.…
Red Sox heaven. New to the area and had to check out the shops in town. This shop is my dream come true. I finished my 2004 Red Sox W.S. ball collection and stood there staring at the Fenway Park lighted statue for about 20 minutes. Now I know what I want for Christmas. The kid working was polite and helpful, the place was clean and organized and the only problem I had was trying to get my kid to leave. Not a great shop for a father of a 6 year old who just discovered superheroes. I've never seen so many superhero toys before. I thought that people didn't read these things anymore but I guess I was wrong. I still can't believe how many toys this place has. So overall opinion is that it's a great shop and if you want to impress your kid bring him along.…
An All-Star shop. A nice well rounded store with the emphasis being on sports cards and comic books. A great selection of older sports cards, both stars and commons as well as newer packs. Autograph memorabilia is everywhere and it's all authenticated by PSA, JSA or GAI so you know it's real unlike other shops. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and prices that are moe then fair, especially on the autographs. Paying $295 for a Steiner Derek Jeter baseball is more then fair. It's funny seeing people set up in the Mall each year selling fakes for $100 and people getting scammed year after year. There's a reason it's $100 and comes with a cert from someone that no one has ever heard of. Go to Matt's or another reputable dealer and save yourself some grief.…
Oh yeah!. This shop just keeps evolving and I love it. I've been going there for years and one of the thing I love about it is that it changes every year. More collectibles, more collectibles and more collectibles, each and every year this store adds more stuff. It just gets better and better, I mean the layout of the store changes more often then the funiture in my parents house and that's a good hting. The shop constantly finds ways to expand the space that they have, after all more space means more stuff to look at and believe me they fill the space well. Hands down the best and most well rounded card and comic shop in the area. Over 20 years in the same location says alot and I look forword to visiting this place 20 years from now, by then he will have found a way to add a second floor or something.…
Fantastic Shop. I am new to Enfield and visited the few shops in the area and this one, Matt's, is by far, head and shoulders above the rest. There is a HUGE inventory of comics and comic related merchandise as well as cards and other collectibles. The shop is well organized and the owner, Matt no less, is a super nice guy. He gave me a good deal on bought and I signed up for a comic subscription to get a cool 20% discount! If you live, or move to the Enfield, CT area save some time and skip the other shops and go to this one.…
Amazing shop with a great owner.
Wow, the last guy to leave a review must be a competitor or something. This card store has everything! In the short tome I was there just today I heard a couple people say "wow, so much stuff" when
they entered the store. On top of that I was immediately greeted by the owner when I entered. He offered many suggestions and was able to work on the price with me.
As for the appearance, the store was neat and tidy and anything I asked for I was immediately pointed in the correct location. I hadn't been in the store for a few months, and the look was dramatically different. The space was maximized to make it easier to get around.
If you are looking for a place to play or buy magic, comics, new wax, DVDs or video games, matts is the place to go, great selection, great prices and an owner who cares…
Time to Update!!!!!!.
Found this store after the local comic store at the mall closed, Store looks like its been around for along time, time to spend a little money on upgrade (looks like 1980's). Selection good,
Service was non existent (maybe because they didn't know me or because they were busy eating behind the counter)
NO 25% DISCOUNT on subscriptions is disappointing.…
A nice well rounded store. Ok, first off 5 Guys and Fries right across from this shop gets it on my "must go to" list right off the bat. Of all the shops I go to this is the most well rounded for my needs. Cards, Comics and a ton of toys. He sells Magic cards and tournaments with pretty good prize support, although I must admit that I go to the Time Machine for tournaments as well. Is he the cheapest around? No, he's cheaper on some item's and more on others. Will he work with you on the price, just ask him. He's always given me a discount whenever I've asked, well to be honest I always ask ;o) Does he have the best selection? Hands down, yes, yes, yes. His DC direct selection is fantastic and I've finished my early 1970's baseball sets thanks to this place. Oh, did I mention 5 Guys and Fries? Mmmmm burger, ok I have to go get me one now, must resist the large fries though.…
Great place. This guy must subscribe to the "If you build it they will come" philosophy. He built a massive collectible shop and I keep going. Very misleading storefront though, the place doesn't look that big from the outside but it just keeps going back and you keep finding these extra rooms. It's like Narnia and I keep going back.…
I love it here.
Matt's is by far the most Astonishing shop that I have visited. The owner is polite, helpful and pretty darn cute. This store is crammed to the rafters* with everything your heart can imagine. The
toy selection is unbelievable with every DC direct figure in stock. This is one of the few stores where the owner not only collects himself but also loves the hobby. I've been to one too many shops lately where not only does the owner not collect but shows a general disdain for they hobby. I had just left a "mall" hobby shop where I asked the person working there if they were going to see the new "Star Trek" movie, his answer was "Star Trek? No, I have a life, hahaha" he said it with such disdain that I felt embarrassed when I handed him my Star Trek Countdown #4 to purchase. I went to Matt's and found 1-3 and when cashing out Matt asked ME if I was excited to see the new movie. We then got into a 15 minute discussion about it and suddenly I felt better. This was the first time I step foot in the shop and I had a nice, genuine conversation about something I love. He made me feel welcome. This is what a hobby store should be, a place where people can feel good about what they love, not be insulted. I seem to have drifted from my review so lets move on. My husband found some nice Red Sox cards that he has been trying forever to buy. A quick side not for all you ladies out there who are married to a Red Sox fan, I am not a baseball enthusiast but during baseball season that is all that seems to be on my TV and I love it. Why you ask, because my husband and I struck up a deal long ago. If I watch 2 games per week with him I get a movie night for the two of us, 3 games per week =dinner and a move and 5+ is a weekend away. Little does he know that I would watch them with him anyway just to spend more time with him. The store, the store back to the store. Matt's is a collectors paradise with more products then you could dream of. The prices are great-we asked for a discount and got one, it always pays to ask- I cannot stress enough the selection this place has. BIG. This is what a hobby store should be.
*Editiors note: The store does not really have rafters but if it did I'm sure they would be crammed.…
