Upon entering, The Hungry Tiger looks like your local pub. Nice atmosphere, many unique wall decorations including photos of many performers who have been there. The food was good. When the band began playing, it was a bit too loud for the size of the space. Be sure to bring your earplugs or the ringing will be unbearable the next day. That's where the niceties stopped. Getting a drink was very hard. The waitress ignored our party for very long stretches. The head bartender (as told by a few patrons) was rude. When waiting for a drink, she spent a lot of time chtting with the regulars, completely ignoring others at the bar. Tough to miss people waiting for a drink since the bar is only about 14 feet long. When she would walk by and I tried to get her attention, she would rudely say things like, 'if you don't wait your turn, I won't serve you ' or "Don't call me, I will get to you when I am done with them(the regulars at the end of the bar)" and the proceed to go to them and chat for a bit. Many people at the bar said she is rude all the time and won't serve you if, as they said, "she gets her undies in a bunch". Overall, it's a nice place, but the service staff could use some training classes.
Pros: Great music and atmosphere
Cons: Absolutely lousy and rude Bartender and slow if ever waitresses

On a Thursday night, the cover charge was quite high to see an unknown band. The guy at the door said the band was famous. I had doubts about this claim to fame since the place was nearly empty! We sat down at a table, and I was enjoying the evening until...The band started playing. I don't know what the sound guy was thinking of, but he cranked up the PA to its absolute maximum. It was painfully loud. I could not get the server's attention for another drink because she could not hear me. We had to get the drinks at the bar, and even then I was screaming into the bartender's ear. I wasn't expecting to need earplugs listening to a blues band in a bar where the crowd numbered no more than twenty. We didn't stay long, but my ears were ringing the next day. Unacceptable.
