first of all, I'd like to thank the good people at citysearch for the tips on good writing. I'll do my best to be conversational, specific, [my]self, and fair. CONVERSATIONAL (I'm going to write as if I'm relaying my experience to a good friend.) "Dear Good Friend to whom I am relaying my experience, how are you? I hope all is well since the accident. They say it takes time to heal from the scars after a battle with typhoid. May you come off victorious, my friend! Slay the beast! Anyway, all is well with me in the Big Apple. There are plenty of good looking women here! Wowee! One thing though - I haven't had a haircut in about 5 years. I know it sounds extreme, but I haven't been able to find a barber who is as qualified or proficient as my old barber back in CT. I think his name was Gary. He looks like a Gary. Body of a sportsman, I tell you. Gadzooks! So back to the "conversation" - here I am with 5 yrs of hair on my head. People have been coming up to me on the street, asking if they can pose for pictures with me. It's a little embarrassing, but I figure they know beauty when they see it, so I don't stop them from the blessing. I was cool with it until I realized that little children thought I was actually Chewbacca from Star Wars. When I put "2" and "2" "2"-gether (wink!), I countered by insisting that, if anything, I looked more like an ewok since I'm not 6' 9". It was rough. Chewy, you're not alone. I am willing to put up with this maltreatment for one reason alone = no one cuts hair like Derick's Barber Shop. (He looks like a Derick.)
