I wanted to share this experience because I think it teaches a valuable lesson. I went into Garrett's Barber Shop last week. As always, the haircut was fantastic. On my way out, I handed Garrett a couple of bucks for a tip. He put out his hand, but rather than take the money, he grasped my hand gently and said, "Please don't. There are others who need this more than I." He then proceeded to take out his checkbook and match the dollar amount of the tip and send that check off to the charity of my choice. Garrett is not just a barber. He is a humanitarian.
