41.996919 -72.582381Out of business. Not a shock.. With poor service and a poor selection this guy closes up shop once again. Isn't this like the 5th location that this guy has burned through? Bad service, bad prices (target is waaayy cheaper, I have no idea what the other reviewer was talking about. Tarket is $2-3 a pack not $5. He had is backwards.) There are much better shops out there, Bob's hobbies in Springfield, The Coin Exchange in Springfield, Matt's Sportscards and Comics in Enfield and the Time Machine in Manchester. If you shopped at Most Excellent and need a new place to go try one of those, you won't be sorry.
Nice Place.
I went into this store with low expectations from the review's here, but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in, this store focused on comic books and that type of memorabilia as well as a few showcases of trading cards, all of which from my knowledge were in excellent condition and priced fairly, even a little cheap in comparison to stores like target in the mall (packs of cards were 5$ at target, 4$-3$ there). The selection was fairly broad but I was there to sell a collection I purchased at an estate sale valued at 200$. The owner offered me 140$ in cash and 40$ in trade, which was really a perfect price, since it would cost me about 20$ to have them packaged and shipped, and if the online stores didn't want them I'd have to pay to ship back, also I was going to spend at least 40$ there anyways. The owner wrote out a gift check for both the comic store and the gaming store at 920 Enfield St. Which focuses more on the card games as far as I can tell (I haven't been). This way I make a quick buck and he can make a considerable profit over an extended period of time. I called both stores and each was very helpful. While I was negotiating a price with him he had quite a few buyers, so as far as I can tell he gets some good business.
Pros.
1.Fair Prices
2.Broad Selection in both stores
3.Friendly staff
Cons.
1.They didn't have enough cash in the register when I showed up (granted it wasn't long after they opened and when I came back an hour later they had my money)
2.As far as I could tell only one person ran the actual comic shop with another running their Ebay business.
Overall an excellent store, I wont buy cards from anyone but these guys and ebay now, and if I come across more sets this is where I'll take them.
Avoid this place. Rude personal, bad selection and overpriced item make this a place to avoid. On the other and the name of the place is kind of ironic in a Bizzaro universe type of way. Lazy service, made me feel like he was upset that my son was only spending $2, like we were wasting his time. A very unpleasant feeling and I'll never shop there again.
Most Excellent...Omg what a crock. Crappy selection and poor, poor service. When I shop at a place do me a favor and watch the language, especially when talking about the compition (who beats you in everything...jealous anyone) it just makes you look like an idiot especially when you lie. You've had a shop in Enfield since 1993...lie, best selection in Ct...lie (any flea market hobby stand has a better selection) but you do get points for cursing in front of my 7 year old.
