Five stars is not enough!

Our wonderful dog of 16 yrs was in pain, wasn't eating or drinking all day, and couldn't walk very well. These were all parts of what was her quality of life. Her decline was gradual at first, then very fast the last 2 weeks or so.

I was not very fond of our vet but he was close and could always see us so I always went to him. When I called yesterday (the Sat. of Memorial Day weekend) he was not in and recommended an animal hospital that I looked up but found several bad reviews for.

I searched and found the Southwick Animal Hospital, and feel that God was guiding me in this search, because they answered, and said they could see us in 40 minutes, though I later learned that they were closing at one. When we arrived, we found the most caring compassionate staff. So different from the business-like demeanor of our usual place! It was a blessing that our usual vet was gone, because the Southwick Animal Hospital was just exactly what we were needing at this difficult moment in our life.

My husband and I were concerned that it was too early to euthanize my wonderful Nike, but the vet who saw us confirmed that she had a couple of problems that were severe and she was in pain. She gave her a low dose of a pain med, and reassured us that waiting for my son to finish work and do this later was a good choice for us. They could not do it later, though, and referred us to the Emergency and Specialty vet office in South Deerfield, MA, who received good reviews from the people they referred there. I am reviewing that place next, and again, all I can say is that God was there with us through all of this, because that was also a wonderful, caring, compassionate place to go for this difficult service.

If you are seeing another vet, and you are unhappy with them, or even just a little less than very happy with them, you should bring your best friend, your beloved pet, to the Southwick Animal Hospital. If I ever have another dog, I will be bringing her to this office. Thank you for being there for us at this most difficult time. I am sure their care would be equally outstanding with other veterinary issues any pet would have.

Dr. Kuzmickas and Southwick Animal Hospital the Best

If you want the best care your pets can receive go to Dr. Kuzmickas at her Hospital. We were brokenhearted when she left a CT practice to open her own hospital. We were fortunate to find her after one of our dogs became deathly ill. Dr. Kuzmickas called her a miracle dog, but we know that dog's precious life was saved by her. The outcome would have not been the same elsewhere. We've never received anything but the best care and compassion a veterinarian can provide

for all our pets for over 20 yrs. Yes, Dr. Kuzmickas makes phone calls, sends handwritten cards/notes and provides the most up to date medical education there is. Don't know how she does it. Worth the trip from Simsbury and beyond.

Caring, Loving and Truely FurChild Understanding

"Absolutely Caring and True Understanding" to the relationship that one has with owning and loving their Fur Child. You could'nt ask for a better staff, clean facility and most of all True Understanding. The services of this facility are off the charts and far exceed the services one would expect.

I would recommend this Hospital to all within the 30 mile radius. If you love your Fur Child traveling should never interfer with seeking out the "BEST". When you find something good "pass on the good word" it is far in between when complinets are made expecially when they are "TRUELY" deserved. - Rie Rie.

Dr. Kuzmickas and her staff at Southwick Animal Hospital are the most caring and compassionate people I have had the pleasure to come across. Whether it's for routine care or a true emergency, which I recently had with my senior dog, the expertise they possess is unmatched. Dr. Kuzmickas gave us a lot of information and ways to help our wonderful dog. She called me every night to give me updates on my pet's progress. This is personal service at its best. I wouldn't trust my pets to anyone else.

I recently had an experience with the Southwick Animal Hospital, namley Dr Kuzmickas, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the expert and attentive care we received. She and her staff did everything in their power to help my pal of 13 years overcome his illness, and when this was not possible, handled the ended of his suffering with understanding for me, and compassion for my dog. Much to my surpprise, several days later, we received a sympathy card, with a HANDWRITTEN message from Dr Kuzmickas, again showing her care and love for the animals she attends to.
