Entire experience with Action Appliance Repair was great! From my appointment time for the following day to prompt arrival, Kevin took the time to explain my options and most cost effective repair and explained every step of the way. Highly recommend their services to family and friends!

Beware of crazy, super fake estimates!!!

We called them to fix our dishwasher and microwave. The service guy gave $309 estimates for dishwasher and $600 for the microwave (we paid $250 while buying) to replace the broken parts. When I asked him to show me the part he is going to replace, it turns out the dishwasher part is available on Amazon in $4, we fix the dishwasher later by ourself.

He keeps insisting it just $224 more as you are anyway going to pay me $85 for a service call. We said no and paid him $85 service call charges for no good.

Completely untrustworthy shop, I would not recommend this to anyone.

I received fast and courteous service when I called A Action Appliance. Our washer was leaking. Doug came out to take a look. He was exceptionally helpful, honest and extremely knowledgeable and diagnosed and repaired the problem immediately. He had the parts on hand so there wasn't any waiting. He answered all my questions and even gave me some "helpful tips" to keep my washer working perfectly. I would recommend this company to my family and friends.

Couldn't hope for a better repair guy. Not only did he fix my dishwasher quickly and affordable, we have all the same interests and we are now Facebook friends online! How weird/cool is that?

Highlights:

1. We scheduled for the first call the day after I called. Super convenient. Compare this to the AE repair guys who could only come in an 8AM-5PM window during the week I mean, WHAT!

2 I wouldn't say the prices were cheap, but they were much more reasonable than other companies I have dealt with. These folks rock.

3. Super fast. Identified the problem quickly, showed it to me, and fixed it all in 20 min.

4. Super professional and neat. This is a real differentiators amongst dishwasher repair guys!

Arrived Unacceptably Late. Was told repairman would arrive between 8 and 12. I clearly told the person on the phone that I had to leave for work at 12:15. Repairman arrived at 12:07 pm. Not acceptable.

over price job. I had a 30" maytag electric range serviced by Action Appliance today. Before the technician came out I learned the problem was a heating element or coil, not sure of exact name of part. Its located on the floor of the oven and turns a red-orange color when heating. I priced the part at $27.60 and communicated with a maytag repairman on line and was informed the repair is relatively simple and takes just a few minutes. The technician who gets paid $80 to "diagnose" the problem gets the money whether or not you choose to have it serviced. The maytag repairman I communicated with on line was correct. It only took 2 minutes for the repair, the technician informed me it would be $299.00. My lucky day I was going to receive a $25.discount. When he discovered my displeasure he made a call and it was further reduced to a price of $199.00. Also a 5 year warranty, however I noticed he wrote a 1 year warranty on my receipt. I feel I made a bad decision to have action appliance service my range. It was pay the $80 for the diagnoses and get nothing or pay the outrageous sum of $199.00 plus tax for the repair. I just posted my dissatisfaction on their customer survey and hope they will reconsider a reimbursement. I only want and expect a fair price. I plan to post any further feed back from action appliance. As of now fair warning prices are much to high.

Excellent service and friendly employees. I just moved to Middletown & as a single mom worry about getting taken. When my washer broke, I searched online saw the high ratings for Action Appliance, & called. They were able to send someone out that day. (They initially said it might not be possible as due to the warm snap they were working on a lot of broken refrigerators. That to me is a sign of a company that has its priorities in order. A broken washer is not a matter of life & death, but a broken refrigerator could be. The technician was professional, friendly, & very patient with my questions. He was obviously very experienced & explained what was wrong while giving me a good lesson on how to care for the washer. He fixed it for a reasonable price. I could not be more pleased with the service & will definitely call them again the next time I have an appliance issue.

Do it myselfer. Phoned and was pleasantly helped, gave appliance information and issue. They called back about an hour later with estimate for repair. They stated that the cost was estimated at $180 and that it was conditional that no other problems were found. During the hour I was waiting for them to call back I checked the price of the part online and it was $6.74. When they called they said a $90 deposit to reserve a repair was required so I asked when they would come and they were not willing to commit until the part came in. I felt uneasy about making a $90 deposit on a $7 part. So I said I would get other estimates and call them back. I then watched a 3 minute YouTube video on how to do the repair, which is easy enough to do with just a screw driver. They are located about 5 minutes down the road so even with travel time the project could be done in 30 minutes. I ordered the part and will do it myself and save $160.

We feel for our customers in these hard times. Unfortunately our expenses such as gas, vans, insurance, payroll, staff and our 5 year limited warranty cost us over $100 for each call. Add in the part, shipping and labor and many jobs run $150 - $200. We quoted Mr. Burgess for a factory original part, not a generic one from the internet. We are lucky when we can make a 10% profit should everything go smoothly. We are sorry our company was not a match for you. Thanks, Jay the owner.
