Damn Shame!!!.
They catered my wedding!!! It was AWESOME. We're devastated the East Hartford location closed...
Looks like Milford may be the only left. I know at one time they had 3-4 locations.....
Get out there people!!! Support your favorite spots!!! Or they may not be there for long!!!
Closure of BBQ restaurant. I have a giftcard for the Cookhouse Restaurant & live in the Manchester area. We called restaurant in E. Hartford & all we got was a recording--no hours listed. It was hard finding this restaurant since you do not expect to find it in a harley store. After finally finding it tonight (Jan. 9, 2009), we were very disappointed as there was a note on the door saying they had closed. We had tried going to the Branford restaurant this summer & found out that it had closed too. So what do we do with the gift card??
yummy ribs.
i must say this is the best rib pulled pork and sauses in the area .. i must tell you i perfer the molassas base sause . i am not a fan of the bristket but if you know bristket it can be fatty that is what i dont like . but that is the way real bristket is .
i have been going there since they opened .. loved it when they had breakfast .. wasnt cheep ... but wow .. i was putting bar b que sause on some pulled pork hash .. and some wraps with egg ..
i would say the biggest problem sometimes is cosistency .. but i always leave fat and happy go for the ribs and pulled pork
Editorial Review by Christy Buena. Located next to a Harley Davidson motorcycle shop, the barbecue restaurant offers pulled pork, chicken fried steak and burgers.
Great Place for BBQ. After moving to CT from the south I was very disappointed with the lack of BBQ options. However once the Cookhouse opened in East Hartford my wife and I make at least one visit a month and gorge ourselves on some of the best BBQ you could imagine. The pulled pork and beef brisket they offer is beyond belief and is highly recommended with the scary or insane (if you are up to the challenge) sauces. Great atmosphere, beer, and service. You won't be disappointed.
