DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD!!!. Monte Alban is very dishonest when taking credit cards. Long story short I ate there last week and paid for the bill with my credit card. When I checked my statement the next day I discovered they took way more than what they were suppose to. When I called the restaurant I was told that the company they use holds more money on your card than the total bill to make sure you have enough money on your card and the difference should be returned in three days. It's well over three days and the money has not been returned to my account. I am on my way to the police station to file a report because the restaurant refuses to accept responsibility. Also, if this is something that often occurs with their credit card vendor, why wasn't I told this when I handed the waiter my card? There also weren't any signs in the restaurant. This restaurant is unethical and if they did this, imagine what else they'll do

This is good stuff!!!!. Ok...I am not a Mexican food critic but lived in Southern CA for 12 yrs and traveled alot in Baja...and this is the best place I've come across in CT without a doubt! The Mole is awesone...sweet and spicey (how do they do that?) and the Carne Asada Burrito is awesome. Excellent service with really reasonable prices...this place is a find in CT

Excellent authentic Mexican food!. They are so friendly and polite and the food is always fresh to order. I have never had a bad experience there and if you are looking for real authentic mexican food this is the restaurant you need to go to. The atmosphere is relaxing and it is a very cute place. in the summertime they open up their patio and you can sit outside and eat and enjoy the great weather!

Best Mexican in Hartford Area. It is the ONLY good place for Mexican Food in the Greater Hartford Area. Their salsas are the real thing. Nothing fancy but all authentic. On par with Frieda's in Oaxaca. I have no favorites. Everything is great. The staff is friendly. The price is right.

Tasty Mexcian - Finally!. This is a great restaurant for authentic Mexican dishes. Wonderfully spicey food and refreshing margarittas served in a timely fashion. Ambiance is cozy and friendly. If you like Mexican, you'll love this place!

Very Good Food in a Family-Owned Restaurant. I've eaten at Monte Alban a few times and the food is consistently good. It is a relaxed, midscale family restaurant. Their homemade salsa is excellent, their enchiladas and burritos are quite good, and their limonada (like a lemonade, but made with limes) is a must-order each time. In addition to the standards, they have an extensive menu of meat and fish dishes. It's a cozy place, but not romantic. Take advantage of their patio seating on nice nights.
