Disappointing.
Our initial impression as we reviewed the menu was that this restaurant was a bargain hunter's dream come true particularly since we had the Entertainment card. Prices are much lower than what we have experienced in the Greater Hartford area. We shared orders of nan, chicken tika marsala and Lamb Shahi Korma. Our initial disappointment came when we were served the nan - only $1.95, but we got about 1/2 a normal size portion. The two entrees, priced at $10.95 and $8.95, respectively, were almost devoid of meat though the curries were very good. As we exited, the owner handed us a Taj Membership Card good for a complimentary lunch or dinner when a second lunch/dinner is ordered. We haven't felt a desire to return to use the card.

Best Indian food around.
This is a great Indian restaurant in a great location. It's easily accessible whether coming from in-town or the highway. I started going there a couple years ago after I found it in the Entertainment Book and I immediately became hooked. The owner/manager is a great person and the atmosphere is relaxed. He does anything he can to make you feel at home. The food and service are both incredible. It is a great place to bring people to try Indian food for the first-time. The tikki masala has a great flavor and the perfect blend of spices. The Taj Special Combination appetizer is a combo of all the available appetizers plus chicken tikka and is a great way to start the meal. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a good night out at a great restaurant.

Pretty horrible sums it up.
The location is pretty good. The manager, the waiter and the cook are the same person on a weekday. The orders are never taken correctly and the food served is stale. Being an indian I think I know the difference between palak mutton and mutton curry. However when served mutton curry on ordering palak mutton I was told that is what a palak mutton was... I just stood up and left...
Prior to that when I have been there I asked for something spicy (it is different then hot) and i was given red peppers.. duh.. any indian knows that red peppers are used for heat in the food not the spice..
Will definately not go to this place again...
