Great little sushi joint

Very friendly and amicable staff serve great traditional sushi and little extras with every meal. A must try for any sushi lover.

• Pros: Great service, really good sushi.
• Cons: No steak tar tar available.

Dinner in a Soviet era prison would be less depressing

To say that Asahi lacks ambiance would be an understatement. The decor is somewhere out of 1989 and the general dining experience is closer to that of a diner than 'fine Japanese Cuisine" as other citysearch reviews would have you believe.

Now to the food; lack luster might be an accurate term but then again terrible might be equally as correct. While the menu is relatively large Asahi's dinners would be better served if the restaurant focused on getting just one dish right. The all iceberg salad was a horrible start to what would be an unpleasant meal.

Amazing

This is the best Japanese restaurant in CT. The food is delicious! Their beef is tender and moist and their sushi is delicious. Forget all of the places in stamford! The trip to Asahi is well worth it.
