Everyone at this salon is so talented, professional, and friendly! I have been seeing Nina - expert colorist and stylist - since I moved to Connecticut in 2001. I now live in NEW JERSEY, three hours away, and I will not trust my hair to anyone else. In fact, I tried someone else, who turned my red hair dirt brown (my first coloring ever!) and Nina was able to bring back and match my natural color. She is kind, attentive, and extremely talented - she is a colorist and a visual artist - and not afraid to take her time and go the extra mile.

John Paul is also fabulous and runs an upscale yet friendly and laid-back salon. The reception staff and others (for eyebrow waxing, etc) are also top-notch, friendly, and professional.

There's a reason I drive three hours to get there - could NOT recommend more!

Nina at JP's is AMAZING! She is incredibly talented and creative. She is particularly amazing with color, and I have never had a cut I didn't like. Nina also does amazing updos. I have always found the salon staff to be outgoing, fun, and courteous. I highly recommend for anyone in the area.

My stylist moved, and I needed a new one in a hurry. I passed by JohnPauls on my way home and figured I'd try it. I LOVE my hair! It's so easy to do in the mornings! The staff was great, and I've neve had so much fun getting my hair done, AND it looks great!! I highly recommend it!

Loving my hair!!. I grew up in Farmington CT but moved to Stamford because of a job opportunity. I went to mulitple highend salons in fairfield county and unfortunately was never happy. I was spending so much for what seemed like a waste.

I figured to make the hour long trip to go back to my hometown and try out a salon in Farmington and went to JohnPauls Spa Salon. The whole staff was so welcoming when I arrived to the salon for my appontment. I was consulted by both Johnpaul for my haircut and Jess for my all over color. Both stylists listened to what new look I wanted and explained how they were going to get my hair to be both healthier and sexy again. I was also really impressed to find out that they use such high end products such as goldwell, the dark color I had applied looked so vibrant.

JohnPauls Spa Salon really exceeded my expectations, I would highly recommend any service.

Beware! Doesn't Keep Appointments.. I called a few weeks ago and made an appointment for a hair cut and blow-dry. My baby shower is next weekend and I wanted to look nice. When you're 7 months pregnant with twins, you're not feeling at your most attractive. This is where a haircut can do wonders. The only appt I could get was mid-afternoon so, I worked my entire day FULL of errands around this appt.

I show up for my appointment and the receptionist first asks me if I received a call from the salon advising that John Paul is running late. I tell her no. She then asks for my name and incredulously, they have no record of my appt. I was very upset and angry because I remember the idiot receptionist who made the appt. She had an attitude from the beginning of the call and hurried me through the reservation. At the end of the call, she referred to me by someone else's name as she was hanging up. I promptly called back, got someone else, and told them I didn't think the person who made my appt put in the right name. She took down all my info and assured me she'd get it fixed. Apparently, this never happened. As I stand in front of the receptionist, I tell her about all of this. She then proceeds to take my name and then begins to ask for my address as she's keying this into her computer. I stop her and say, "Before I go through this process yet again, is John Paul going to be able to cut my hair today?" The answer was no. I promptly turned around and walked out.

So now my baby shower is one week away and it is currently the middle of Labor Day weekend. It is highly doubtful that I will be able to get an appt at another salon before next weekend. Thanks a lot John Paul!!! I will never set foot in your salon again and I will be sure to tell everyone I know about my experience with your incompetent staff.

Amazing!. I went to John Paul on the suggestion of a friend and I was super nervous about changing my look. John Paul was patient, had a great personality and explained everything he planned to do. He also explained to me how to style my hair once I got home. My color is perfect and my haircut is so beyond what I thought it could ever look like! I LOVE IT! The girls at the reception desk were super friendly too - when I asked them to change my dollars to quarters for change for the meters they simply told me they would take care of it! - they even continued to fill the meters while I was in John Paul's chair! The atmosphere at John Paul's is really comfortable and inviting. They offer you coffee, tea, water and bagels too! Out of all the options there are in the area, John Paul's is absolutely the best! John Paul restored my confidence that my hair could look amazing and that I could get in the chair and trust that my stylist was actually listening to me. That alone is worth it's weight in gold! I can't ever imagine going anywhere else for all of my hair needs! My hair has found a home!
