I live only a couple of blocks from Jacoby's, having moved here from Hamden last year. But it has become a real favorite of ours; it would not matter if I lived much farther away - I'd still go there often! Jacoby's can be a bit pricey - but the food and service are well worth the price. However, the "Early Bird Specials" - served nightly until 6 - are truly special. Not only is the food of excellent quality, and beautifully prepared, but the specials also include the copious salad bar, a full meal in itself. I've probably eaten there at least 15 times - and have found the service to be admirably friendly and professional every time. One thing that I found ironic: the previous reviewer is from New Jersey, where I grew up. I agree with Nancynj: Jacoby's is wonderful!

We stopped in looking for burgers and beer in the middle of a long drive from VT to NJ. What we got was a fabulous meal with all the trimmings and the delightful coincidence of meeting the owner and finding out we'd eaten in his South Jersey restaurant years ago. He promised to buy our dinners if we weren't satisfied when we walked in--and his money was safe--one of the best meals I have ever eaten! Get the ribs--you won't be sorry and definitely won't go hungry. Thanks Mr. Jacoby!!!!
