The best place in the Hartford area for catching a local hard rock act.. The Scene
Gilo's is a spacious club packed with people and amps for live music performances. The fair-sized dance floor holds a diverse crowd ranging from leather-clad bikers to chino-wearing baby boomers. And yes, everyone gets along here. Pool tables and a well-stocked kitchen fill the corners. Hungry? Wash down your beverage with one of Gilo's burgers or a sandwich.

Definitely try one of the house Hurricane Janes. (Hiccup.) Don't miss the weekly invitationals hosted by The Smoothies and Jimi Bell on Thursday nights. Bell is a speed guitarist who was once considered to replace Randy Rhoades in Ozzy Osbourne's band. The Ozzy reference is indicative of the evening's music style, so if you don't like rock, come another night.
