Lousy Pizza!. Ordered 3 large specialty pizzas. The Tomato Pie, and broccoli pies were "so-so".

The Bianca wasn't worth a dime. We couldn't even chew it. It was hard a a rock!!!

Definitely not going back.

FORGOT CATERING ORDER!!!!!!!!. Ordered Catering for 50 people via web; got confirmation email. Called 2 days prior to event to verify "all is ok"; staff confirmed order was ok, took my credit card info....NEVER SHOWED UP! Called on day of event and was told "sorry, order fell through the cracks." NICE.

very good pizza, friendly environment. This is a great place to go with friends, everyone is sure to find something they like on the Menu. I have been a few times and only once did we have to wait long for a table (the girl actually messed up and forgot us, but then sent us home with extra free bread to make up for it) and the service is generally good. Don't expect the BEST pizza ( you have to go to New york for that) but overall a good choice.

Tradition and History Still Left in Hartford .... First & Last is one of the few restaurants still left in Hartford that holds great history in its walls and still puts great food on your table. Generally inexpensive (especially for the many college students living in that area), great atmosphere, great service, and always funominal food (ie. Neopolitan pizza and Antipasto). It's a small restaurant that stands just in front of Goodwin Park. Old pictures of the city of Hartford and famous faces that have walked into the establishment cover the walls, and beautiful built-in wooden booths and old Italian restauant feel are inviting. It's small, so if you have a large party make a reservation. If you come on the weekend be prepared to wait, and parking is fairly limited so look on the streets or across the way at their newly built bakery.

This tavern is the locals' choice for drinks and prize-worthy pizza.. The Scene
First & Last Tavern features an old-fashioned wooden bar that's packed most nights with businesspeople dodging their commutes home. Bar seating tends to be standing room only--at least you'll be at ear level with the local gossip.

The Draw
There's a good selection of imports and domestics on tap, including Michelob, Bass, John Courage and Guinness. Enjoy some of the state's best pizza in First & Last's main dining room. Available any way you like 'em, pies come in 12-, 15- and 18-inch sizes. If you can pass on the pizza, other classic Italian dishes include lasagna, pasta primavera and cioppino.

Excellence in a town that could use more. A native and current resident of Hartford, I can honestly say that the First and Last tavern is truly one of the best restaurants around. I live about 1/8 of a mile away and on hot days when there is a gentle breeze you can literally smell the garlic up the street! A must try for all....

The Food Critic. Whatever the reviewers have written down here is not true. Food is expensive, ambience is poor, parking is a battle, service is slow.

Best Pizza in CT. The First and Last, especially the original restaurant in Hartford, has the best Eggplant Pizza in CT! I believe it's the layer of Riccotta cheese that is under the eggplant that makes it so special! I've had eggplant pizza at another restaurant and it was aweful! The First and Last is the BEST!

Great Pizza. My favorite pizza...anywhere. It would be better if less people new how good it is, because sometimes it is difficult to get in.
