FANTABULOUS BAKERY. This is one of the best bakeries I have dealt with in a very long time. Dependable, reliable, creative and delicious. Lisa your are top notch. I give you a picture and you flow with it. Thanks for helping me with all the cakes - Vegas, Cell phone, Lighthouse, Wedding Palm Trees and probably more to come. Enjoy classic Italian baked delights in an old-fashioned coffee-shop setting.. The Scene
Gleaming glass-and-chrome cases and a long coffee counter complete with padded swivel stools lend this Hartford favorite a 1950s charm. Locals and tourists alike flock for the homemade pastry, gelato and wide selection of imported Italian candies and chocolates. Family-owned since 1958, the friendly and knowledgeable staff fills cannoli to order while diners wait.

The Food
Freshness, authenticity and variety are essential ingredients in every cookie at Modern Pastry. Classic marzipan cookies are chewy almond delights and best enjoyed with a demitasse of the cafe's strong espresso. Flaky pasticiotti tartlets are piped full of creamy, sweetened ricotta. For those overwhelmed by all the sweet options, pepper biscuits are buttery-golden knots (not quite a cracker, not exactly a cookie) liberally flecked with black pepper for just the right amount of bite.
