Worst Club Ever

Don't join! West Hartford is operated by brainless employees, especially the manager. Cromwell has a man named George that is their #2 man is completely incompetent! They are continuously double billing my account and refuse the refund the money!! I am not out of double fees!!! The clubs are dirty, the machines are broken and the staff is less then desirable to be around!! And good luck cancelling their membership!!!
My next stop..A REPORT TO THE BBB!

Unethical practices...Don't join!

A terrible club...it's easier to buy a house than get out of the contract with WOW. They have had over 22 complaints on the BBB about their billing practices and they only replied to one. They have a rating of an 'F'. I tried to change my debit card info because I had to cancel the card and get a new one....they said it would take 5 days to do this..really! Which meant the it went over the 1st of teh month so I got charged an extra $10:62 (which is how they make their money) even though I told them not to run the card. So far I have complained to the BBB and attorney general and this has not been resolved.
Machines are often broken and often take months to repair. They do not enforce members stripping down bars after use...so weights are always left on bars, even though signs say they will kick members out for doing this. Staff is too lazy to keep place clean and weights in thir place. There are plenty of other great gyms out there...don't let the $10 price fool you..they get you for a $20 maintanence fee every September!!!!

Do not sign contract!

Do not sign the contract or believe the sales person! I have had the hardest time canceling my membership and their standard answer is, " it's in the contract." I couldn't cancel in person with an id. it had to be in writing, and mailed, mind you, even though I was right there in person. They can take your credit card in person though.The actual cancelation occurs months later. Why is the cancelation not effective immediately? It's in the contract ofcourse.
- Pros: enough equipment
- Cons: They tell you one thing but contract says another

Decent for Price

The gym used to be great--and a very good deal. However, the pricing was altered (no more full year pay--which worked out to about $20 a month) and it became extremely busy. There were never paper towels (meaning no one cleaned machines), the staff changed--and are now unhelpful and will leave you standing in line to speak w/ them while they chit chat among themselves. Machines are now crammed so close together. It is in slow decline.
- Pros: tanning beds, newer equipment
- Cons: So busy! Unclean bathrooms, mostly unhelpful staff

Pleasant Workout Experience!

Wow Fitness in West Hartford Connecticut is a beautiful spacious fitness center. The facility is well equipt with friendly knowledgable staff and the largest amount of up-to-date epuiptment and fitness classes I have ever seen. I did not wait for any machines although many of them were occupied. The classes appeared to fill up fast, but I was able to take what turned out to be the most productive, educational, fun, Cardio Kick-Boxing class. You can also enjoy getting a tan there or having a delicious and healthy specialtly beverage made fresh to order. Overall I give this business a 10/10 rating.
