Last 2 times BAD!. When I discovered mickey's I was blown away! Their fish sandwiches were the best anywhere and it seemed like such a quaint place. HOWEVER....the last 2 times I have been there (in the past year and a half), this place has CHANGED. The first time I got a grilled chicken sandwich which I should not have even eaten. The chicken was so tough and gross that I threw 3/4 of it away. I vowed to never get the grilled chicken sandwich again. The next time we went, I got the reliable fish sandwich. YIKES! The fish was so tough and well done, it resembled something like pork rinds and was almost beyond eating. If I wasn't so hungry I would've brought it back, but I didn't want to cause a scene. ALSO, they have cut their hours down and the staff is usually not that nice when you go in. Who knows what is going on there, but it is a REAL disappointment. We will not return. It seems from the amount of people we used to see there compared to now that others must be experiencing the same thing. Too bad, hope they get their act together.

Mickey's Oceanic Grill. The breakfest sandwich's are always delish. Unfortunatley, last time out, I got short changed in the Fried Clam department.......they owe me at least a cheesburger............

So nice we went back twice!. I admit we were disappointed when we drove up and found Mickey's was not a sit-down restaurant. Nonetheless, we decided to stop in...and we were so glad we did! We each had a clam strip dinner, which came with a HEAPING order of sweet clam strips, french fries, a bowl of clam chowder, and a slice of panini bread. We also ordered a side of onion rings, which were stringy, hand battered, and excellent! Two days later we went back for lunch and I had a clam strip roll (served on a foot-long grilled hot dog roll) and my fiance had 2 chili dogs, which were absolutely delicious! We know of at least one other group that ate here (at our recommendation), and they were not disappointed either! If we're ever back in the Hartford area, you can bet we'll be visiting Mickey's again! Great food at a great price!

No One Can Beat This Place!. Mickey's has been around for more than 50 years, and once you visit this place, you'll know why! The fried clams are the best I have had in all New England, and there is more on the menu, than any resturant like it can offer. Their new menu incorporates old favorites, with new, health-conscious salads and sandwiches. It is great to have anytime of day; on the way to the office, on your lunch break, or to take home for the entire family for dinner. Don't miss trying the freshest, fastest, and friendliest seafood and grill restuarant in the area!

Best Walk / Lunch Combo Period.... 10 minute walk across the bridge...

Fish & Chips, and a Chocolate shake so thick, you cannot use a straw...

Followed by a nice walk back to the tower.

Unbeatable. A little out of the way, but an awesome diversion and morale booster!
