Elbow Room..."A Broken Joint. Elbow Room..."A Broken Joint" - Huh.We didn't even get to have food there. So why the negative comment ? Actually that's the point...read on. 7:30 PM - One of the last few warm evening (before winter hits), a stroll with your love and a hungry belly - sounds like a perfect moment ?? NOT. Being the food connoisseur I suggested a new place to try - "Elbow Room". As common it is in West Hartford we were told a 45 min wait .As suggested, I left my phone number and we went for a short walk close by, so that Elbow room could call us when ready.

8:40 PM : "Growl" gets louder and my feet ferreted to the doors of Elbow Room.

Here comes the punch (NOT FAIR):

I was told Elbow room decided not to seat any more customers because they are short staffed.

The problem is we've been waiting for over an hour, they had my phone number and its already late past 9:00 PM - Elbow Room could have informed us and we'd have had our food else where.

Why didn't they ?

Are customers that trivial of a matter for this restaurant ?

To add fuel to the the burning fire (in my belly) The hostess took in a older gentleman and a lady - When asked I was told that's a friend of the owners.

Hey ELBOW ROOM : People like me go out to have a good eating EXPERIENCE not just fill our stomach.

- Value your customers (not just their money ),

- Do business with some ethics and care for your customer.

- An every day customer is the one who supports your business, please remember.

Bottom line ....You just killed a nice evening for someone and left a bad sour taste.

Yuck, Yuck, Yuck!!. Food and service and staff attitude is terrible. The food is always WRONG and more often than not, cold or lukewarm. Don't waste your time here. I understand being outside is nice, but West Hartford Center has SO many other and better places where the food isn't awful and staff isn't awful.

A message to the owners of The Elbow Room. Had lunch at The Elbow Room today, but I will never eat there again. I ordered a Cobb salad, described on the menu as "Cobb Salad of grilled Chicken, Avocado, Slow Roasted Tomatoes, Gorganzola (sic) Cheese and a Smoked Bacon Vinaigrette. "

There was no avocado on my plate. When I asked, the waiter said that he "forgot to mention that" when I ordered. The smoked bacon vinaigrette had no bacon flavor. And I don't think that the tomatoes had ever come within a mile of a slow roasting oven.

Guys, there's a Whole Foods supermarket less than a mile from your restaurant. If you've run out of something, you send someone out to get it. It shouldn't be hard, especially since one of you has a Jaguar parked at the back with the license plate "Elbo-Rm."

Service was slow, even when the restaurant was nowhere near full. One of my companions waited 20 minutes for mustard to go with his burger.

And why would you turn off the air conditioning when it was 90 degrees outside? Perhaps you paid for the Jaguar on what you save on utilities.

You deserve to go out of business.

Amazing restaurant in West Hartford Center. With an incredible rooftop bar (complete with a waterfall and TVs) and dining area, extensive and reasonably-priced wine list, delicious and interesting menu, and convenient location, you cannot go wrong with the Elbow Room. It has an interesting interior design, giving it a romantic feel. The menu items are delicious and range from unpretentious to daring. You can order something artistic and unique, but you can also stick with the tried-and-true macaroni and cheese, except this version is better than anything you’ve ever made yourself. And the prices—while somewhat high—are entirely reasonable for the food, service, and environment you’re getting. It’s easy to order things that won’t break the bank and still have a great experience.

The crowd is typical West Hartford Center and ranges in age, but the typical diner is probably in his or her 30s. The upstairs bar attracts people from their early 20s to mid 40s. People often take their kids, though, and they don’t seem out of place.

Poor customer service. Recently a group of friends and I dined at the Elbow Room in West Hartford. After being served a ?meal? that could have been securely served atop a half dollar, I asked that it be replaced with another from the menu. The manager was called and he asked if the waitress had explained the size of the portions, I told him she had not. I then placed another order; however after watching my entire party finish their meals I told him that I did not want the second meal. The manager became irate. After being purposefully ignored while trying to pay at the end of our meal I voiced that his behavior was distasteful. He then became aggressive and completely inappropriate. I was shocked by his conduct and, among other things, his implication that my party did not intend to pay for their meals. I told him a polite, ?I?m sorry ?mam, but we are going to ask you to pay for your first order? would have sufficed. He said he didn?t believe the server didn?t tell me about the portion size. Aside from his antagonism, being called a liar was beyond offensive. A colossal managerial change is in order.
