I Loved Them!. My husband and I got married June 3, 2011. I had shopped for a while for my wedding dress and had experienced numerous boutiques and dress styles. I thought I knew what I liked, so when we got to Camille's, I told Erica, the sales woman, which styles I had tried on and what I wanted to see in their shop. She took me to the racks of dresses and had me personally pick the ones I wanted to try on. Erica stopped at one and said "If I can pick one for you to try on, it would be this one." I agreed, thinking it looked nice, but not exactly what I had in mind. I put that dress on and IT WAS THE ONE! Erica had this incredible eye for style and was able to not only "see" that this dress was perfect for me, but she also helped me with accessories (earrings, veil, hair clips), including the perfect sash, which made the dress totally "me". She called over the owner, Irene, who was just as excited and helpful as Erica. They genuinely were interested in my happiness and wanted to get everything "just right" for me. I felt that they truly cared about each customer- every time I came in, they greeted us with big smiles, they knew me by name and they knew which dress was mine. They went above and beyond normal business to ensure my dress and everything purchased there was exactly how I wanted it to be. I bought my mother a bracelet from their trunk show and when I picked it up (2 days before the wedding), one of the stones was missing. Irene had a brand new bracelet ready for me the next day- no hassles, no problems, no excuses. Maria, the seamstress, was amazing and made the dress fit perfectly. When I picked up my wedding dress, Irene and Erica hugged me and sincerely wanted me to come back so they to hear about the wedding afterward. Honestly, it was like buying your wedding dress from family. The whole experience at Camille Bridal Couture was wonderful, seamless, hassle-free and absolutely a place I would highly recommend.
A miserable experience!.
Never again! I have badmouthed them to no end and hope it finds them. And I've been waiting to write this review (which I will copy and paste on every wedding website known to man).
My initial trip to Camille was a fairly pleasant one - my maid-of-honor and I went to see a dress I'd seen online and desperately wanted to try. Camille was the location closest to me (but still almost an hour away)...I should have heeded the reviews/warnings of others. I bought the dress on the spot (HAPPY DAY), leaving a LARGE 50% deposit, agreeing I'd return in December for measurements and to place the order. My consultant was wonderful but she left the store shortly thereafter. This was in the summer of 2010.
I received a call in November of the same year while I was on vacation stating I needed to go to the store immediately to be measured. Mind you, I was across the country for a week+ and there was no way I could get there. The story I got was this: the designer and the store had ended their "contract," for lack of a better word, and the store would no longer be able to order my dress after the end of the month. I asked what would happen if I couldn't make it there prior? The store couldn't order my dress and I'd lose my deposit. Excuse me? I almost had a heart attack. The owner, whose name I'll leave out though other reviews have mentioned her, was granted an extension into the month of December to order my gown. Fair enough. It was ordered and I was told it would be four months.
I waited and waited and waited...somewhere into April I reached out to the store asking about my dress. She stated it would be shipped on a specific day about a week out from my phone call. I gave it a few weeks before I called again.
Dear Brenna. First of all, let me start by congratulating you on your recent marriage. Your dress was sent by my staff to the PO box address provided by you. UPS made the redirection to your last known address. I assure you that in the future, nothing will ever be shipped to a P.O. Box.Unfortunately, we were not able to reach you.I am very sorry that this caused you such distress. We truly did everything in our power to make you feel appreciated, beautiful and important. With warm Regards, Irene
Do not go here!!.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The lady at the front desk is rude and treats you like you're beneath her. I had three fittings for my dress and every time I walked out amazed at how rude she was. Not to mention the tailoring job they did was awful. I had the sides taken in, along with some material from the back taken out of the rouching of the dress. Well the dress was still too big , and falling off me at my friends wedding. Unfortunately I didn't notice this until it was too late. When I went to try on the dress for my third fitting the pins were still there on the rouching!! ! I doubt anyone actually altered the dress at all!!!
Also, I almost got charged double the amount for the dress alterations, until I told her I didn't get anything hemmed off the length. She looked at me like she didn't believe and had to "double check" and ended up charging me the right amount. Please stay away from this place!!!!
Dear Lynn33. I am very saddened to see this review. We do pride ourselves in making our clients feel welcome and important. All of our seamstresses provide estimates and communicate with our clients. We do not have anyone running the front desk as you describe because we are all with our clients. If, however, any action by one of our associates offended you in anyway, please accept my sincerest apology. We would also be happy to correct the problem if you would like to come in with the dress. Please feel free to call us at any time.
With warm regards, Irene and the Camille Bridal Team
