At Hartford's newest after-hours dance club, there's no food and no alcohol, but there's plenty of room to dance till the sun comes up.. The Scene: Talk about tough times: how about being 18 to 24 years old and having no place to dance after the city's 2 AM last call? That's exactly the need that Velvet dance club owner David Squillante addressed when he opened System, Hartford's newest after hours dance club, this past March. Patterned after the after hours danceathons in NYC and Miami, the cavernous room holds up to 1000 dancers from clubs all over the city still looking to party hearty. Open from 11 PM until 7 AM, the club packs the dancers in to the tune of $15 a person. At one end of the enormous dance floor is a mirror that allows one to play exhibitionist and voyeur at the same time. Do all your drinking and eating before you arrive, because System offers no food and only a juice bar to refresh.
