Love that Kitchen. So, I'm from NYC and I work in Hartford during the week. Don't ask. Anyway, I was asked to set up the particulars for a Team dinner. Again, don't ask. The reviews on CitySearch for Trumbull Kitchen were old but somewhat helpful. After collaborating with a very knowledgeable Hartford native, I chose Trumbull Kitchen. It was great. The service was a little slow on this particular Wednesday but it could've been because of Restaurant Week or the crowd. In any case, the food was delicious. We had an array from the menu including the calamari (made with nuts, yuck) to the smoked chicken, aritichoke dip, sushi roll etc. All of it was good. My colleagues' meals ranged from vegetarian to pad thai to stone pies to my hanger steak and no one had any complaints except the service was a little slow. I'm not sure about the drinks because we had champagne but the bar was well stocked. Overall, I say you grab a bunch of friends or maybe that special friend and settle in for a nice, relaxing, leisurely dinner that you all will like a lot. See you when you get there. I'm the guy from NYC, remember?
Great food and an wonderful drink and martini selection..
They make the best Mojitos in Hartford that I've had so far. The staff was always friendly, excellent, accommodating, professional and made you feel like a king. Interesting professional and trendy, mature crowd.
The food is great and it's a nicely designed place.
fun place, really good food- what Downtown Hartford needs. I have been to TK a bunch of times- and it never disappointed. Have been there for a variety of reasons- girls night out, date with my boyfriend, lunch with parents, and everyone loves this place. Sushi is awesome, steak is great.. food is very high quality and so are the cocktails. We went on Cinco de Mayo and didn't even know it was a special menu, and the Mexican food was top notch! A great surprise. TK is a trendy place.. dress up, get a drink and have fun!
Fun. My girlfriend and I had a nice night here. The food was good, fun menu. The service was friendly. Our waitress was funny, and helpful. The lighting is a little off, but overall the decor is well done. The tables are situated above the bar area so it is a great view for people watching, and it has an interesting crowd. We would go back.
This is Hartford's most popular spot for martinis and jazz..
The Scene
The Civic Café is upscale in the tradition of the great speakeasies, with candlelit bistro tables and a high-gloss bar. Background music softly compliments the formal mood. Wednesdays from 5pm to 8pm are an exception, however, when Civic Café hosts the famous Martini Club. Stop by for live performances from some of the area's most talented local jazz musicians.
The Booze
The Civic Café's top-shelf crystal-decanter poisons, will soothe whatever ails you. Don't overlook the fine array of liqueurs.
While You're There
Dress up, the atmosphere is exquisite. The food, for which the café is well known, is equally divine.
