Came on a business trip and had a work dinner at J Timothy's. Very pleased with the choice that was made, had a relaxed atmosphere which made it easy to have some real talk not just office bs. Shannon helped us at the bar while we waited on a few people to show up, very nice young lady to chat with. Made the experience that much better, only wish we stayed at the bar so she could have helped us the entire time. Hope to come back soon!

I came here with family when I was in town and I'm already looking forward to my next trip! Delicious beers on tap and yummy grub!! The history behind the place is really cool too. This is my new spot in CT...

This place is amazing! The tailgate pretzel is the best appetizer, well besides the infamous wings of course. And any one of their sandwiches are always a smart move. I try and come in whenever Shannon G. is serving- she is so sweet and I love how she makes you feel right at home.

Left much to be desired. I've been here before and while it was good, it wasn't the best. And forget about making reservations... I called early and was told that they only take them for parties of 6 or more.

On this trip to J. Tim's, my boyfriend and I opted for their famous steaks. To be honest, we were pretty dispointed. Having started with onion rings as an appetizer, we were both put off at the fact that the server neglected to mention the pile that would accompany our steaks as well.

In addition to the second heaping helping of fried rings, the steaks came with your choice of rice, mashed or some other starch. Unfortunately, fresh veggies would cost extra. I don't know about you, but when I'm paying upwards of $20 for a steak, I expect a choice of veg or some tasy potatoes. And the small salad with tasteless dressing didn't count. I opted for the mashed potatoes which were bland and the plate it was served on was small, almost bowl-shaped which made it very difficult to cut my meat. As for the meat, my filet had a good flavor which I believe is thanks to the gorgonzola cheese that cost me an extra $3. My boyfriend wasn't so lucky. His NY strip left his taste buds begging for more flavor.

As for the service... he was slow to greet us and then piled our apps, salad and bread on the table in one lump sum. Apparently the serving dish for the onion rings is quite tricky, as he dumped half of them in my boyfriend's lap. A few minutes later, we had our entrees to add to the mess of plates on the little table. Slow start and a rush to the finish.

It goes without saying that our experience left much to be desired. I'd recommend it for families or a bunch of friends out for beers and wings after work.

Great Atmosphere, Great Food, Great Service. I love J. Timothy's. I haven't been since their recent renovations, but their wings are always delicious -- both the buffalo and the terriyaki. I also love the honey bread they serve with dinner entrees -- delicious! Every time I've been to J. Tim's I have had great service. If you can, get seated in the downstairs/basement area. It's an intimate room with a fireplace -- it's very cozy, colonial and romantic. Their steaks are also really good, and their shepard's pie is one of my boyfriend's favorites. If you're thinking of dinner and a movie, think of Plainville and check out J. Timothy's.

Wings to die for. Being from out of town, we had our local wing place back home, and wanted to find one here. We did just that, we read about Hartford areas best wings so we tried it out. The wings were meaty and so flavorful! We raved about the buffalo and the teryaki were wonderful too for something a little sweeter. Live music and a lively atmosphere... A definate must try! We will definately go back for , I m pretty sure, the wings Ive ever had...

Make Reservations!. The place gets packed quickly during dinnertime. I highly recommend making reservations. If you are unable, seating is available upstairs, on a first come-first serve basis... so plan to arrive early!!! (well worth the wait if you do encounter a line)
