Car repair as it should be

by The Stylest at Citysearch

I have been using these people for 6 years. They are honest. It might not be the cheapest place to go, but they will not sell you stuff you do not need. They give advice about things I can do to prevent problems. Hands down the best ...‎

  • Pros: Free loaner cars
  • Cons: Small waiting room

Excellent customer service

by momofcl at Citysearch

Being new to the area, I asked around for a good repair shop. The Auto Connection was at the top of my list that I received from my family, plus I received a coupon for being referred by my brother-in-law. It is not only very convienent to get to, but they give you great service. Kenny and the rest of the staff are very friendly and helpful. They kept in touch with me and let me know exactly what was going on with my car. They even gave me a ride home. I would recommend them to anyone!!!

  • Pros: Beautiful waiting area, very friendly staff, quote was to the penny

never got fixed/tried to get more money from me

by lindamcintyre at Citysearch

well, I went there to get my car fixed. I tried to get a quote but they kept beating around (should have known better at that time...live and learn). I did needs brakes, but I needed just pads. I already had been to Firestone and they quoted me a price of $310. I had Firestone checked everything else out and other than an oil change, they said the car was in good shape. Well, this place said it was going to cost me over $1,200 to do the job correctly. The said I needed struts and shocks. I went back to Firestone and then I went to another mechanic in Newington and was told I didn't need shocks or struts. I am so mad about this. This is a classic case of a repair center taking advantage of a woman. Thank God I checked them out.

  • Pros: none/absolutely none
  • Cons: read my review and stay away.

Rip Off

by cathydoyle at Citysearch

I went in there for a quote on my car. I needed a new muffler system, from the catalytic converter back. I was quoted a price of $1,100 to get this done. Some kid tried to sell me these fluids. The labor charge was very high. I ended up going to Midas and paid $290 for the entire system. It works fine now.

  • Pros: none except the place was clean
  • Cons: just stay away and save your money. BIG difference between $300 and $1,000!
