Incredible Fried Cheese Hamburgers.

I love this restaurant, ice-cream shop, and the late 60's decor. It is a unique and fun place to have a meal or just ice-ream!
All the employees are kind and friendly!
I had never heard of fried cheese so I tried it, the hamburgers are the best as they are but the fried cheese on them tops the scale!
I take guests (family & friends) from out of town to Shady Glen because it is such a unique restaurant, all have loved it!
Enjoy, and I know you will!
- Pros: I rate these at 10+ Ambiance,hamburgers,etc,, & Service
- Cons: There aren't any cons for this 50's styl;e restaurant!(^-^)
The best secret in Connecticut

When I happened upon Shady Glen yesterday I thought "How is it possible to have lived in CT the past 35 years and never heard of this wonderful place! Shady Glen is a great throwback to the 50's - when life was simpler.
Each male employer was wearing a Shady Glen hat, and every female a forest green dress! The menu is on the wall and the place is bustling. Customers are friendly. I asked the man next to me for a recommendation and he didn't hesitate to recommend the cheeseburger! However, I'm allergic to cheese and in the mood for soup so I ordered the Minestrone even though I've not always had great luck with that title at other restaurants. Was I in for a pleasant surprise! It was full of fresh vegetables and chopped up beef - absolutely delicious! I hadn't intended to have more, but after that treat I ordered a hamburger. Wow! I'd forgotten what a real hamburger can taste like when the lettuce and tomato and onion are fresh!
I'll be bringing my friends to Shady Glen soon!
Best comfort food around

I've been eating at The Glen for well over 50 years off and on. I would be there more if I still lived in the area. But believe me it is a stop I always make when I'm near Manchester. The Cheeseburger is a Master piece. The Ice cream superb. I even bring people from other states with me and they can't wait to get back. Even the setting is great.
DON'T MISS THIS IF YOU ARE NEARBY
- Pros: Comfortable, a trip into nostalgia land, food is good and friendly service
- Cons: I live far away now
