Great Place to Kennel your Pit!
by DynamiteLady at Citysearch
I had mixed reviews about this place, but once I stepped onto the property and met a few of the people who work here, my fears were dashed.
The staff members were friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable. They told me everything I needed to know, and double-checked everything too.
When I picked up Lola, my 3.5 year old pitbull, she didn't run to me immediately - she was having too much fun running around the place, sniffing at everything. Only when I called her did she finally see me, and boy was she happy! I didn't have her bathed, but she didn't stink like she has in the past from being kenneled in other places. And the gentleman who signed me out said there were quite a few pits in the kennel, which is a good sign. Pits can get pretty aggressive in social situations, so to have a place with that many is a good indication that the staff know what they're doing, and the accommodations are ideal.
Also, I know she was exercised pretty well because after the initial happy dance of being home, she passed out on the couch for the rest of the day!
Will definitely be bringing Lola back to River Run!
My dog loves it!

My dog loves going to River Run Day Camp. He's happy when he gets there and very tired when he comes home. The staff are very accomodating.

Our dogs have been going to doggie day camp since they first added day care 9 years ago. They have the best and biggest play areas so that all the different dogs don't have to be in one giant group together.(We looked at other day cares that were like that.)They're always expanding and adding lots of extras, especially the water park is really great in the summer. Our dogs jump out of the car in the morning and are exhausted when we pick them up- which gives us a break from exercising them everyday. Its also nice that our dogs know everyone there already when we have to board them overnight.

Wow, i can't believe these reviews! I have been going to River Run for years and i never saw these-i don't know anyone who isn't happy leaving their pet at there! I was online searching for the website the receptionist said is coming when this came up. Ijust had to say i have had really great experiences here consistently. Last year we lost our beloved dog Bailey to cancer who did daycare at the kennel for two years and boarded several times. She almost would jump out the window with excitement when we turned down the road to the kennel! The owner of the kennel sent a lovely card to us for our loss and although Bailey will never be replaced we are bringin our new puppy to daycare this year and she loves it! I recommend it to any one i know with dogs.
- Pros: Special Daycare, Boarding, Personal Attention
- Cons: Easy to miss the turnoff
