A superb restaurant. A superb restaurant, so good we booked for two nights later. Following a warm welcome into the restaurant we had excellent service from the highly efficient professional waiters who described the menu, evening specials and extensive wine list. The food was well prepared, cooked, seasoned and presented. On the palate, the cacophony of flavours was an absolute delight and a testimony to the skill of the chef. The Best.. When I walked through the doors at Mavi I admit that I was already impressed. I felt just like I was in the restaurants I used to frequent on my many trips through the Mediterranean region. When I sat down and read through the menu I was excited by the variety Mavi offered but I wondered to myself "Can they really serve Turkish, French and Italian of equally high quality?" They certainly can. My friends and I ordered many dishes from the major regions of cuisine offered at Mavi. Each had flair, great flavor and truly authentic flavor! Turkish Meze shone, as did Lobster Ravioli and Duck L'Orange. Try this place!…
World Class Restaurant.. We really appreciate a fine dining experience but it seems to be quite rare these days to find the right combination of good food, professional service and pleasant atmosphere . A lot of reviews for Mavi mentioned the resonable price, which is worth mentioning on a site, but we found it to be a good trade. The staff was very attentive without leaving us feeling that they'd like to rush you through your meal to turn over the table. The food was excellent; a nice selection of entrees (various high-end meats and seafoods) in complimentary combinations with interesting ingredients. This is key to a successful meal for my husband an I--he wants recognizable food he can pronounce and I'm a bit more adventurous. Mediterranean Delight. I went to Mavi this weekend because there's been a lot of buzz about it, especially online and in the Hartford newspapers and magazines. I love the variety of their menu. I don't think that there is anything else in the U.S. that compares to the flavors and beautiful presentation that Mavi's chefs create. Honestly speaking, the portions are so generous that I had a wonderful meal at the restaurant and repeated it again the next night with the left overs. I had the Paris Roll for my appetizer, and the grilled whole Mediterranean sea bass as my main course. The juicy wild duck in the Paris roll was tender and the L'Orange sauce was a perfect compliment. The sea bass was the catch of the day and it was extremely well prepared. It really took me back to a summer I spent on the Greek island of Santorini in college. There is nothing more Mediterranean than a perfectly grilled fish. I gave Mavi 5 stars because the flavor and quality are truly "on the level" when it comes to the amazing cuisine of the Mediterranean.…
