what a joke. Went for the first time . NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Was told 15 to 25 minutes for table. Waited for 45 minutes and then we ended up being seated a table that was filthy. 20 minutes to get drinks ordered and they tasted watered down. Ordered my steak medium rare and got well done. When I asked the waitress to take it back she got an attitude. Asked to see the manager but his attitude was not much better. Told him I am not paying for the meals and left for J. Gilberts and some real food and good service.

you're kidding, right!?!?1. This had to be one of the worst places I have ever eaten a staek. The only place worse than Dakota's was Applebee's, but I really wasn't expecting much from there. Service at Dakota's was non-existant. and the prices were, way too high for what it was.

Overrated!. Dakota's has a great Sunday brunch but their steak leaves a lot to be desired! Service is just so-so, and I don't think their dinner menu is worth the money! I will happily go there for brunch again anytime, but we won't be going back for dinner.

NEW YEARS EVE FIASCO. CALLED AHEAD OF TIME TO SEE IF THEY HAD A REGULAR MENU ON NEW YEARS EVE AND IF WE

NEEDED RESERVATIONS. THEY STATED THAT THE MENU WAS THEIR NORMAL MENU AND THAT YOU COULD CALL AHEAD AND PUT YOUR NAME ON WAITING LIST. THEY SUGGESTED 45MIN TO 1HR AHEAD OF TIME. WE DID ALL THAT, THEN ON

NEW YEARS EVE WE WERE TOLD THERE WAS A 2HR WAIT.

WE WERE FINALLY SEATED AT 7:45 PM.. WHEN THE

WAITER TOOK OUR ORDER HE STATED THEY WERE

ALREADY OUT OF THE T-BONE SPECIAL AND SOME

OTHER ITEMS AS WELL. THIS ON NEW YEARS EVE

AT 8:15 PM AT A WELL KNOWN STAK HOUSE.

TALKED TO THE MANAGER AND DID NOT RECEIVE

A SATISFACTORY EXPLANATION.

ALSO, POINTED OUT TO THE MANAGER HOW DIRTY

THE RESTURANT WAS AND SUGGESTED A MAJOR

CLEANING AND BETTER SUPERVISION.

Never Again!. Maybe it was bad luck, but I had the worst experience at Dakotas. It took 2 hours to get served, the food was horrible and the waitstaff were completely unattentive.

NOT A CHAIN. First of all, Dakota is not a chain restaurant, there are not that many of them in the North East, much less many of them anywhere. The steak is excellent there and the salad bar is very appetizing. This is the reason, it has been voted #1. Definitely worth the money!

Over Priced & Poor Quality. I thought the steak was poor quality and a little too price for what I received.

The brunch that Dakota's serves is another story, I would have to say that was the best brunch I had, had in years.

Ok, Restaurant. My first experience during the month of June at Dakota's was excellent. When I returned in August the service was slow & the food quality was less, than that of #1.

not #1. I was not impressed with the food or the service. I can't believe it's #1 in Hartford.

Are you kidding!?!?!. I cannot believe that Dakota has been rated number one for the last two years.

Someone is paying off MSN Citysearch.

The food is the same quality as the outback but at a much higher price. That's it in a nutshell.

OH, and the service at Dakota is probably the worse I have seen (even for a New Englander).

If it's theme restaurants you want then stick with the Outback chain, they are much cheaper and friendlier.

If you are serious about really good steak then head to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Newington or Mortons in Hartford.

Everything is ala cart there, so if you want a fork or a knife with your meal you have to pay for it.

Once you eat your first morsel then you will know where the money went.
